VCF Academy shortlisted amongst finalists for ECA Women’s Football Award 2022

The VCF Academy's commitment to women's football is among the ECA (European Club Association) Awards finalists, this time around, for the Women's Football Award 2022.
The highest body of European football clubs and thus, recognising the commitment that Valencia CF began last season to fully and equally integrate women’s youth into the structure of the VCF Academy and the facilities at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna.
The VCF Academy is one of the finalists for the Women's Football Award alongside Arsenal FC from England, Feyenoord from the Netherlands and Heart of Midlothian FC from Scotland.
The winner of the Women's Football Association Award will be announced at the ECA General Assembly on 22-23 September in Istanbul, Turkey.
Better conditions and two trophies
This commitment to the full integration of women's youth football in the VCF Academy means better training and playing conditions for all players, as well as the professionalisation of all areas of the VCF Academy structure linked to women's youth football.
Last season, following this complete integration, two of the teams, VCF Femenino B and VCF Femenino D, were proclaimed champions of their respective leagues.
Commitment to VCF Femenino
This recognition from the ECA reinforces the VCF Academy's commitment to the integration and growth of women's football, with which Valencia CF have been linked to for more than a decade, since 2009, when VCF Femenino was created.
VCF Femenino are currently playing in the top tier of Spanish Women’s football league the Liga Profesional de Fútbol Femenino, and there are many players who came up the ranks at the VCF Academy. Likewise, the VCF Academy is also represented in the latest youth rank call-ups for the national team.

Last season, the VCF Academy was also amongst the finalists in the ECA awards, in this case, in the Youth Football Award category, for the social actions carried out by the VCF Academy players within the #AcademiaEnComunidad programme.
